For the final meeting of the EU funded Alzheimer consortium NEURAD (http:www.neurad-alzheimer.de), we are organizing a 2-day scientific meeting in Amsterdam. We kindly invite you to join us in the beautiful Dutch capital and attend our meeting entitled: An update on Alzheimer's research: from fundamental mechanisms to therapeutic opportunities. This two-day symposium will take place March 15-16 2010 and will be held in "Het Trippenhuis", the home of the Dutch Royal Academy of Sciences located in the centre of Amsterdam.
In this symposium, important topics in the centre of attention of Alzheimer research will be highlighted and updated by key scientists in the field. These topics will cover fundamental mechanisms of learning and memory at the level of the synapse and neuronal network, through (intracellular) amyloid beta metabolism, tauopathies and the role of phosphorylation and GSK3, to new developments in related and relevant fields of autophagy, neuroinflammation, unfolded protein response, cell cycle changes, adult neurogenesis, lysosome/proteasome disturbances, up to neuroprotective and therapeutic approaches on e.g. vaccination.
